Pancake Day Race

Alexandra Costa

A flip, a race and a smile — Year 4’s Pancake Day celebration was full of fun and tradition.

On the 13th of February, the playground came alive with laughter as Year 4 celebrated Pancake Day in the most joyful way — with a pancake race shared by students and teachers alike. Side by side with their teachers, the children ran, flipped, and cheered, turning an ordinary school day into something special.

With flying pancakes and smiling faces, the event was a true celebration of learning, movement and togetherness. My heartfelt thanks go to the teachers who made the day possible and to Chef Claúdio, whose delicious pancakes were the perfect ending to an afternoon full of memories.

A simple race, a shared tradition, and a day that Year 4 will remember with delight.

Comments from some students:

Pedro Rodrigues, 4C “It was fun because we ran and flipped the pancakes!”

Tomás Pinto, 4C “Pancake Day was funny because we dropped the pancake and because the teachers participated.”

Vicente Minhós, 4A “It was fun. I thought the people were funny in their costumes. And I liked seeing the teachers run.”

Emma Malheiro, 4A “ I love it! It was fun to do something different and we even ate a pancake at the end!”
