Robin Hood and the Witch’s Curse

The English Teachers – 2nd Cycle

On March 25th 2026, the professional theatre company “Calliope” visited Salesianos de Lisboa to present the play “Robin Hood and the Witch’s Curse”. The performance aimed both at entertaining and putting into practice Year 6 students’ English skills. The captivating performance took students on a journey through an adapted fairy tale based on the myth of Robin Hood. Students were invited to go on stage to play some of the characters and to answer riddles, which had been explored beforehand in class. “Robin Hood and the Witch’s Curse” combined fun and learning, leaving students with a feeling of true amazement and a sense of curiosity.

The English Teachers – 2nd Cycle

Dear teachers Celina and Assunção, the theatre was a very good idea!

Everyone seems to have loved it! It was a lot of fun! Everyone knows the story really well now.

The Calliope Theatre actors were really funny and expressive. I loved the moments when they interacted with the students. They also had clothes that were creative. My favourite part was when they had a “dancing battle”. Some students were called onto the stage and they had to dance in front of everybody, it was so funny! I also learned new words!

In my opinion, you should continue having these “theatre” moments! Thank you very much for this wonderful experience!

It was a lot of fun! I think that we should definitely have more English plays in school because they motivate us even more to study and speak in English. Inviting some students to go onto stage was a great move from the actors! Well done!
